Bisnonna & NY

We spent a long weekend in The Big Apple introducing Mason to his bisnonna (great grandma), who is visiting my aunt, uncle, and cousin. The weekend couldn't have been better, despite my sick little baby. Our hotel, On The Ave, was a great choice, if you need a recommendation for a future visit. We spent lots of time kissing the baby, taking pictures of the baby, playing with the baby, ... You get the idea.  My poor baby left town with a very runny nose and some congestion.  I'm convinced he still had something left over from his ear infections. The pediatrician sent us out of town with an antibiotic in anticipation of what would develop. She was pretty sure the fluid in his ears + the pressures from the flight would cause issues. They did.
Despite it all, he was still my happy little boy.  Anyway enough of the mommy stuff. Bisnonna has been waiting for this moment and it was beautiful!
Here are some of the things we did during our fun filled weekend.

We are here!  Waiting for a taxi.

Beautiful.

"It's cold.  Get this baby inside!"

Grandma love.

Playing with some of Michi's old toys...

We took Mason to the Children's Museum.

It was a bigtime hit!

... across the street is the cafe from 'You've Got Mail'.

Aunt GiGi & Uncle Rick took us to their favorite Neapolitan style pizza place.  You know it's going to be good when you walk in and everyone is speaking Italian;)

Mason gave it 2 thumbs up!

We stopped at a few of the bakeries on 'my list'.  1st stop... Levain.
I got the Chocolate Chip Walnut cookie, brioche stuffed with chocolate chips (my next copycat attempt - it was so good!), flatbread with artichokes & gruyere, and a blueberry muffin.  I'm glad I did't have any more money, because I would have bought more to sample.

I also stopped at a bakery called Crumbs.  I really wanted to try a Black & White cookie and this place was known for them.
It was nothing like the one I made.  It was much more cake like.  I'll have to give it another shot:)

The Real Deal.

My little prince.

Strolling through the park.

I am so grateful my baby boy was able to meet his Bisnonna and get showered by her sweet kisses and hugs.  We will see you soon!
