must be shrinking ;) AND, my baby must be GROWING!

4 more weeks until we are 'supposed' to meet baby, but I have a feeling he will be a March baby.

Have I bragged on my hubby lately?

I hit the jackpot when I met and married Robby. I will save most of the mushy stuff, but he is the most sensitive, respectful, honest, patient man I have ever met. (Let me go on a little more, and since it's my blog I can, right?) He makes me feel so loved and important every day, plus he's easy on the eyes :)

When Becca took pregnancy pictures of us a few weeks ago we couldn't stop talking about how amazing her camera was. We decided that at some point in the future it would be SO worth it to get a camera of that quality.

Well, surprise! At the baby shower the item below showed up...

A Cannon Rebel! I had just finished looking around the room trying to figure out who would have known we wanted this and who could be so generous (he wasn't there yet)... I was speechless.

What a thoughtful man. I guess now is the time for great pictures since we will soon have a little one to photograph.

Baby Mac's Baby Shower

This past Sunday 4 amazing women (Mrs. Angie, Becca, Amanda, and Nikki) threw a baby shower for me and my little boy. I can't really even describe the day without getting tears in my eyes. We had so many friends and family come celebrate this new little life that is about to enter the world. It was just a perfect day, from the conversations and decorations, to the food. Baby Mac's Room

Robby has been working really hard over the past few months on our little boy's room. He started off by painting the room (Nightfall by Freshaire). Then sanded and painted (white) an old dresser and mirror from my childhood days along with 2 hand-me-down bookcases. I found some curtains, a few frames, and we hung some paper lanterns and that's about it. I still need a lamp and my momma to help me cover the puppy beds that I got for our 1st and 2nd babies. I hope our son enjoys his room as much as we do! If not, we can change it when he gets here :)

I was browsing picture frames at Target last night and one with the above quote stopped me in my tracks. The Brownings had this whole love poem thing down to a science :)

Names

When I would hear a mother-to-be say how difficult it was to pick a name for their soon to be bundle of joy, I would think to myself, "just pick your favorite and go with it". It shouldn't be so difficult, right? Then why is it?

Now I know.

This is something they will have FOREVER. We want it to be masculine and strong, but not overly insensitive or formal/informal sounding. We want it to be short and easy to say since I am the QUEEN of nicknaming. I really would like my child to use the name he is given, but the chances of that are slim given my history:)

The name conversation has been put off long enough in our house and has been commencing nightly over the past few weeks, but are we wasting our time? Before we knew baby was a boy we threw around the most beautiful girl names. We almost immediately agreed on a short list, except for the old fashion ones I like, and they came easy.

The day we found out baby was a boy we narrowed it down to 3 boy names. I have the pickiest husband in the WORLD, for those of you who don't know, so this was a small miracle in itself. We love all three of those names and baby will end up with one of them, I am sure, but I keep searching. I keep trying to talk myself out of them. Why? Is it the hormones? What if it's not? Why am I so indecisive? I think Robby is just going to have to decide once we see him...

Name #1: Our favorite. It's also Robby's (2nd and 3rd favorite!). It's becoming more and more popular, but that's not necessary a bad thing, right? It's much easier to think of weak male names that are not popular. It is strong, but also so sweet. It sounds beautiful with his middle name, Robert, and last name. AND, you can't screw it up. You would really have to try to misspell or mispronounce it. We know one person by this name and he's a pretty cool normal guy. You know, because that is a requirement - cool and normal :)

Name #2: Our 2nd favorite. It's not popular and pretty informal and there is no way to make it formal. Like Robby said, "It would be perfect for a second son." The first born son seems like he should just have a name that takes on more leadership. Do you think we have over analyzed, lol? We also only know one person by this name. He's pretty humorous and, while Robby knows him better, constant entertainment. Maybe that's why I associate it with the lack of formality?

Name #3: The 3rd down the line. This one is fairly common, but I still really like it and don't really know anyone by the name. So I don't have to worry about the whole 'someone from 10 years ago was named that and they were a jerk and ruined it' kind of thing :) The jury's still out.

So, what are your suggestions? How did you pick your baby's name? Or, if you already know what you will name your future babies, how did you decide? Oh, and as public as I have just made this topic, by the husband's request, we aren't spilling it (assuming we decide on an it) until we meet him. We just have to make sure the name fits our baby boy.

Staniel Cay, Bahamas

My mom and Steve are currently in Staniel Cay. Steve mentioned on their blog they fed some pigs while they were there. I wonder if these are some of the ones they fed. Swimming Pigs! How cute is the little one at the end? And those giant ears?

I found this jumper on our doorstep after work yesterday! We can't figure out who it's from, so if you happen to read our blog and it was you, let us know. We love it and can't wait to see our little guy bouncing like crazy in it.

Doesn't it look like fun? How awesome would this be in an adult size? :)

Stretchy Pants

At this point all of my pants are stretchy without buttons or zippers. It's a beautiful thing. Robby asked me how many times I think I will leave my pants unbuttoned or unzipped (or both) once the baby comes and I am back in regular pants. It's something I thought about before, but now it crosses my mind every time I put them on. What if I become even more scatterbrained than I am right now, which I hear happens, and forget these important steps?

Maybe my beautiful baby boy will distract people from noticing :)
