The Chewy

Today I was walking down the hall at work and saw a coworker of mine who has a birthday tomorrow. He is always polite and compliments my baked goods when I bring some in, so I wanted to make something special for his special day. I said, "I hear you have a birthday tomorrow. What's your favorite cookie?" His response, "Chocolate chip will be fine." Ummm, okay, I guess honesty is what he was going for. He is hilarious! No beating around the bush for him!
Whenever I make chocolate chip cookies I usually go to my favorite Fabulous Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe (an awesome recipe my coworker shared with me), but I wanted to try something new and remembered an episode of Good Eats where Alton made three types of Chocolate chip cookies. I thought The Chewy would be the way to go to celebrate my coworker's birthday!


I tried a few and they were delicious with the perfect saltiness. They turned out flat (I can't stand flat cookies), but Robby thinks it was my baking soda. I will get a new box and try them again soon to compare.
