We spent last weekend with Pappa & Granny in Louisiana. It was a beautiful weekend, and we spent most of it outside. Pappa had some rice bran he wanted to put out by each deer feeder. He said the deer love it and wasn't lying! Several of those 50lb piles we Robby put out were 1/2 way eaten the next morning.
I guess my blog title is a little misleading, but it is kind of true. We didn't actually hunt for bears, but we were trying to track one ... kind of.
A few weeks ago Pappa spotted a black bear at one of his feeders. He went back later, followed a trail in the woods, and found his home. One of the rice bran stops was at this feeder, because the bear needs to eat too, right??? Pappa wanted to show us his home in the woods, so the 3.5 of us cautiously (at lease the 1.5 of us were cautious!) snuck in to see the piles of bones and hmmm, other things he had left, if you know what I mean :) I checked the trees to make sure the bear wasn't watching us from above. Pappa and Robby kept walking, but I just couldn't go any further. I was about to turn back when Pappa wanted me to check out bear scratches on a log. I quickly walked in, saw them, and headed out :) Granny called right then and told us to head home for lunch with Uncle Scott & Aunt Cathy.

A trip to P^2 is not complete without a trip to the oilfield. Robby had a few wells he wanted to check on, so we decided to take baby mac along (not like he/she had a choice) for his/her first trip.

The fish. Robby said they had been trying to pull this out of the hole for 10 days. You are looking at a $300,000 piece of metal.
Riggin' back up.
