Ciaran Jr.

We spent Saturday hanging out with Baby C and his mom & dad to be:) It was a quick trip to Austin, but Ciaran and Linh always show us a good time. It happened to be Chinese New Year while we were there, so after a stop to what else... Mighty Burger (possibly the 2nd best burger EVER), we drove to Chinatown. We passed the scene were the crazed Joe Stack flew his plane into the building employed by IRS employees. After seeing the damage in person, I think it's a miracle only 2 people were killed in the crash. Here are a few pictures I took from 183.

Once we made it to Chinatown (which is a VERY small area in Austin), we just walked and had Linh do lots of translating. One man was walking around trying to recruit for the Census Bureau in Vietnamese, haha. Linh was trying to tell him we all had jobs, but he really wanted us to apply! Linh showed us around a Vietnamese supermarket. Wow, they have EVERYTHING in there. The produce looked amazing and cheap, the fish/seafood was plentiful, and the selection of meats was unbelievable. They literally had every single inch of pigs, cows, and chickens packaged and ready for purchase. I'm talking from cups of pig's blood to packaged ears and feet - my stomach was pretty queasy by the time we left.

Linh, baby C, and me on the Fire Engine

This little guy was running around the stage area and parking lot. Not sure what the purpose was, but he looked really cute at first - then I started to feel sorry for him. He was carrying Woody and a wooden cart with a teddy bear in it...

After we celebrated the New Year, we went to a Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant where Linh used to work. The first time we ate there was for Ciaran and Linh's family/rehearsal dinner the night before their wedding. It was delicious so, we went back Saturday night. YUM! While we were eating a group of dancers started setting up with their drums & cymbals. They were there to celebrate the New Year and wish luck to the restaurant. We pretty much had front row seats since the dancers brought the show inside. Check out some pictures below.
