We started giving thanks the weekend before Thanksgiving with Jaime & Maria. Robby snapped a few pictures (mainly of the food with good cause), but this was the only shot with people in it;) Maria and I were a little hesitant on doing a full out holiday meal because we had never cooked a turkey before. We decided to solve that problem by picking up a Logan Farms turkey (perfectly smoked and oh so tender) and focusing on the sides! They are the best part in my eyes, anyways.
Maria found two winner recipes with the cornbread stuffing and the sweet potato casserole. Best I've ever had!
We also had rolls, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and green beans. We were ALMOST too full to finish with the apple pie;)
Maria brought back a surprise for Robby the last time she went home. It's her favorite beer and they don't import it, so she was certain Robby had never tried it. Check out the Indian's face. Maria told us you have to scratch it off before you enjoy your frosty beverage... it's a tradition, but we can't remember why. Something about him watching you. I guess Maria will just have to bring us more so she can tell us again!
On Thanksgiving Day we were in P^2 soaking up some good family time.
Mason let PawPaw ride on the tractor with him:)

Rocking with Poppa
Emmie and Heather had a surprise for Mason. He had a great time opening his new toy with Emmie's help.

On a separate note: Mason had his first sleepover with Nana & PawPaw over the holidays. The first night we were at Poppa & Granny's we set Mason up in his pack n play in our bedroom. He woke up and was not happy about 2 hours after he went to sleep. I told Robby to put his pacifier back in, but we had a little bit of a miscommunication and Robby thought I said, "Put him in bed with us." Needless to say, we didn't get a whole lot of sleep that night. So, Nana & PawPaw offered to keep him in their room the next night. We took them up on it and poor Nana ended up with a bed partner :)
So, question for mommas....
How do your babies sleep when they travel? I am going to get a softer 'mattress' for the pack n play. It's basically just an uncomfortable piece of plywood with a little bit of stuffing on it, right now.
Any suggestions would be wonderful!
You might try putting him to sleep at home in the pack ‘n play.
