Joshy's back!

My brother has been in Bahrain working for the better part of 3 months and is finally home for good! Even though he is all the way in DC it still feels good to have him back in the states. I missed our frequent chats while he was out of the country, but did finally figure out Skype**. As soon as my brother got home and unpacked, work sent him to a conference in San Antonio. Yeah! Well, at least for us, because we are a quick drive away. Poor Josh, I know he is just ready to be home. Josh got into San Antonio yesterday afternoon, so we packed in the car and headed to meet him. It was a quick trip since we had to work Monday and he would be busy with the conference, but we had a great time hanging out.

Hyatt Hill Country Resort & Spa. This is where Josh will be hanging out for the conference. It is such a pretty place with a very secluded feeling. It might be nice for a weekend getaway someday :)

Dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. Delicious!

(Robby was finishing up an annual boys weekend at his buddy's lake house, so he wasn't able to join in on the trip.)

Bro & Sis

Look what Josh brought me all the way from Bahrain! Haribo Bears!

Oh, and since I am talking about my brother. Check out their new ride...

So pretty and shiny. I can't wait to test drive it in October - just kidding Josh!

**If you don't have Skype, and have family overseas/long distance get it! I have been able to talk to my mom as well as my grandmother in Naples. I called my grandma via Skype while my Aunt LuLu, Aunt GiGi, Michi, and Karen were visiting to tell them about our new addition. It was definitely a phone call I won't forget :) I promised my grandma weekly Skype sessions with baby once he/she arrives.

Last thing:

Blueberry Coffee/Cheesecake

I spent the rest of the weekend baking (yeah) and cleaning (boo). A co-worker of mine had a birthday over the weekend, so I wanted to make her something to celebrate. I found this recipe and couldn't wait to bake/eat it. I subbed the cherries for blueberries and LOVED it! It isn't the most beautiful coffee cake/cheesecake, but it is the tastiest I have ever had. I will definitely be making it again. I might try fresh raspberries next time.
