30 Day Shred

For the past month I have been working out with Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser. She has a work out video called "30 Day Shred" and it's killer. The work out takes about 25 minutes and you are supposed to do it everyday for 30 days. Their are 3 levels on the DVD and each one gets progressively more difficult. I thought level 1 was ridiculous when I first started and said, "No way it can get any worse." Well after 4 or 5 days, it became easier and easier. I quickly went through level 2 and then bam!, level 3. I wish I would have spent a little more time with level 2, because I was starting to get a bored with level 3 by the end of the month. Not that it was getting easy (that was not the case at ALL!), but it was just getting too routine.

I would strongly recommend this workout video. I have tried a few in the the past and they wouldn't hold my attention. I think that is because they were too long. 25 minutes (including the warm up and cool down) is a deal. That is something I can do everyday. I have definitely become stronger. I can do a real push-up now:)

I am planning on taking a week off to enjoy the sunshine (hopefully) and get some good running in, then get back to Jillian.

Pros: All you need are a set of weights (3-5 lb. depending on your starting strength), a DVD player, and 25 minutes a day.
Cons: You have to listen to Jillian Michaels telling you not to "phone it in"... she gets a little wearing, but she is motivating.

Oh, I think you can pick up the DVD at Wal*Mart for around $10, if you are interested.

  1. I have her Wii game, but haven't had the time to try it yet. 25 minutes sounds like it could work!

  2. Yay! Awesome! I want to get my hands on a copy. And a little tip from Becca: mute the dvd and play some Black Eyed Peas:) .. duh!
